Honey flavoured notes caress the ear,
Telling of forbidden joys and near,
Throw away a bank of love and light,
Embrace the pleasures of some tawdry night.
"Don't let the cup of life be poured away!"
That's what the notes were ever wont to say.

"Snatch the novel toy and hold it fast;
Keep 'till youth and zest are spent and past.
Let the good Samaritans go hang,
Listen to our laughing lustful twang.
Savour of such joys as come your way."
That is what the notes were wont to say.

"Young and green scream out their loud applause;
Never take off time for pensive pause.
Scorn pathetic flowers of yesterday:
Raise your sights to what is new and gay.
